The 38-8 Apartment Complex

OVERVIEW
Located somewhere in midtown Bavan, the 38-8 Living Complex is a large, horizontally oriented complex of apartments and businesses that stretches between the Hook and Ladder 8 and Lucky 38. Affiliated with The Lighthouse, a charity organization dedicated to helping newcomers settle in, the building contains eighty well-furnished apartments in a mix of studio, one bedroom, two bedroom, and three bedroom units. There is an on-site event hall and laundry rooms, as well as a courtyard. The complex is free to live in and open to all new arrivals or wayward monsters seeking a safe and sturdy place to live. The apartment building exchanged hands several times until ending up under the watch of a human named Mr. Oskar and his kelpie handyman, Ronstadt. Lucky you!
The apartments are unique in that they collectively belong to the residents. Therefore, any resident is welcome to make modifications or additions, so long as they don't impede other people's living space. If your character lives in the apartments, feel free to pitch ideas here!
THE SUPERINTENDENT
Mr. Oskar is a kind, community-oriented man in his fifties who pities the monsters brought to this world. He used to help manage a corner store just down the street of the apartments. When Clint disappeared from Ryslig, Mr. Oskar decided to step in and carry on his work. Many of his friends and family are aghast at this, but he's dedicated towards helping making these monsters feel welcome. (And, admittedly, maybe the protection these monsters provide motivates him.)
He sends a care package to anyone who moves into the apartments, and always asks for their birthday, trying to make them feel welcome. His favorite topic of conversation are his nieces and nephews. Feel free to use him as an NPC in any of your threads.
+ FACILITIES
PIZZA RESTAURANT + BOOK PUBLISHING
On the Lucky 38 end, there is a New-York Style Pizza restaurant serving large, classic pizza pies. On the Hook and Ladder 8 end, there is a book press business specializing in printing copies of the two editions of Spengler's Monster Guide--a tome of collected information (currently known) about the monsters that populate the peninsula. They also print brochures and leaflets for the Lighthouse.

COURTYARD
Nestled in the center of the apartment buildings is a courtyard that sports an outdoor garden and basketball court. The outdoor garden is free to be maintained by any residents (or non-residents) as long as they respect the space. The basketball court can be converted into a volleyball court, or a tennis court, or...really, whatever sort of rectangular court you need for sports. You can bring your own equipment or check out equipment at the front office.
BASEMENT
The basement sports a sizable laundry room, next to a rec room and indoor gym. The rec room has a billiards table, foosball, a TV, and any other variety of things to keep one occupied. For some reason, there also seems to be a stand-up piano in the corner with a note--"PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE OF NOCTURNAL MONSTERS". The gym has all manner of exercise equipment--weight lifting stations, treadmills, rowing machines, so on and so forth. Just be careful that you don't break any of it with your monstrous strength, okay? You break it, you cough up the cash to fix it.

POOL
The lot next door has been acquired, and a public pool has been built in its place to service the merfolk and kelpies that live in the area. Residents (and non-residents) alike are free to use it during the summer. Half of the pool has been partitioned for people who want to swim laps, while the other half is for free form fun. You can probably find a few floaties and other pool accessories in a poorly maintained bin off to the side. In the winter, the pool is heated, though the hours are restricted to just night time.
ROOFTOP
there's grills and stuff here and you can drag a projector screen up here if you want. A small above ground pool has also been added, which follows the same schedule as the public pool down on the ground. All of the inflatable rafts here have cup holders and are shaped like tiki masks.

+ APARTMENT GUIDELINES
(Super Duper Informal)
- Don't be a dick!
- Don't destroy shit that doesn't belong to you!
- Decorate however you want as long as you're not trying to burn down the building. We don't care.
- Just because Mr. Oskar doesn't collect rent doesn't mean this is an excuse to act like animals!
- If you need something repaired (and who doesn't, we're all monsters we always break things) just tell Ronstadt.
- Don't bring your
killsmeals into the building. It's unsanitary, and also Ronstadt has to deal with that later! - We understand that some monsters (looking at you pookas) play pranks. That's fun, and it's funny! But if you make an especially huge mess expect to be asked to help clean it up!
APARTMENT ROSTER
If your character is currently living in the apartments, please comment with the following form to have your character be added to the roster! This does absolutely nothing except allow you to know who your neighbors are and gives the opportunity to complain to them about being too noisy. Just like real life!
There are ten apartments per floor, each labelled with the floor number and the apartment number. Eg: 100 to 109 would be the apartments on the first floor. You're free to claim any apartment that's available, and you can move into apartments with other characters.
Please don't move your character into an apartment that's already occupied without another player's permission. If you ask your character to be written down for an apartment that another character is already living in, I expect you to have communicated this with the player in question.
